I finally got back on my bike a couple times this week. Life has been so busy and I've been a bit unmotivated, but I realized how quickly my race is coming up and how far I am from ready, so I've recommitted myself. On Wednesday morning Abraham and Mercy came with me to visit teach Diane. That evening I attended a session at the Temple with other members of the ward council and Stake presidency in preparation for Ward conference coming up this weekend. Yesterday after work we all drove up to Rio Rancho to check out a Toyota Highlander Hybrid for sale. While Matthew thoroughly checked over the vehicle, I took the kids to a park we found nearby. We ended up making what we felt was a very reasonable offer, but the seller didn't accept, so we drove back home without a new car.
This afternoon Matthew spent a while moving paver bricks from the driveway into the back yard while I sewed some blackout curtain lining to the back of the drapes that Grandma Naomi helped me make years ago in Indiana. Mercy has been waking up with the sun at 5:45 and I just can't take it anymore, so I'm really hoping these will darken her room up enough to help her sleep in. Matthew built us a fire as the sun started to get low and we roasted marshmallows and ate s'mores. It was a lovely way to kick off our weekend.
