Tallie's Baby Shower

Tallie is one of my Sunbeam teachers. She's been serving in primary for as long as she's been in the ward and doesn't know many other women. She is due with her first baby, a little boy, in November and a couple months ago I felt strongly that I needed to throw her a shower. She enthusiastically accepted my offer and it was not only a pleasure, but an honor to plan her party.

Pretty much any party I throw is going to be centered around the food.

Deviled Eggs
Yogurt Hummus with Red, Yellow, and Orange Peppers
Banana Bread
Pumpkin Muffins
Panna Cotta with Fresh Strawberries
Oreo Truffles
Strawberry Limeade
and Candied Nuts as the party favor

Everything was homemade, from scratch, with the slight exception of the muffins which utilized a boxed cake mix and canned pumpkin. I had so much fun planning and preparing this spread, and I thought it looked beautiful and the flavors all worked together splendidly. I had ten guests and five little girls. Everyone offered their bit of advice to the first time mama to be as they gave her their gift, and most everyone stuck around visiting for nearly two hours. I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out and feel it was exactly what it needed to be.
