This morning we went to the baptism of Mikayla. She's one of the young women in the ward and Mercy has a special liking for her. Her mom is a member, but her dad is not and he's prevented her getting baptized before now. I'm not sure what changed, but he was there supporting her this morning, along with about half the ward. The chapel was nearly full! The baptism was sweet and spiritual and we were all so happy for her. There was a very impressive spread of food afterwards and we spent nearly an hour visiting and eating before going home.
In the afternoon we were able to finish the flooring in the back hall that leads to the guest room and bathroom.
Somehow we got it in our heads that today was stake temple day and that Matthew needed to be there in the evening to help with youth baptisms. When he arrived, however, he discovered that we had our dates wrong. Instead of coming home, he went straight to Jeb's for D&D. While he was gone, Abraham and Mercy asked to go over to the school playground for a while. I let them go alone for a bit, but joined them after about half an hour. Hyrum was feeling abused that he had to clean out his closet and rebelled against me by refusing to come play with us.
Though neither will readily admit it, these two really are best buddies.
How I love this sweet face!
