We were by far the most prepared ahead of time for this morning's departure than we have ever been before. Matthew and I were both able to shower, we woke the kids with plenty of time for them to use the bathroom and change their clothes without feeling rushed, and we were on the road at 6:11 am, only eleven minutes later than the goal. We ate Pop Tarts in the car for breakfast then I made the mistake of handing out the tablets just past Gallop, only two hours into our journey. Our kids usually travel so well, but as soon as screens were involved there was arguing, whining, and impatience. The boys played Minecraft pocket edition and Mercy watched Frozen 2.5 times, then all three managed to position themselves to watch Star Wars before the battery died. We stopped for gas and a stretch just outside Cortez, then had lunch at Burger King in Moab. Both Matthew and I finished our Audio books and other than the screen induced crankiness, the drive was uneventful.
We arrived in West Jordan just after 5:00 pm. Grandma served us left over Gyoza and carrot cake for dinner, which was a real treat. Grandpa had rented the Lego Batman Movie, so we watched that. By the end of the show Abraham and Mercy were begging to go to bed.
