May

Whew! May was packed with work, fun, and overall adventure. The Kress' came to visit at the beginning of the month. Our shenanigans with them included the father/son campout, girls night, and a trip to Santa Fe.

We went fossil hunting in the Jemez, helped the Jolley's move into their new house, swimming lessons ended, school ended, we celebrated Mother's day, have enjoyed Sunday afternoon walks up to Mirehaven, and of course had our big Memorial Day camping trip.

I fed the missionaries, attended book club, cub scout committee meeting, and a RS pie night, walked several times with Hannah and Mindy at Park West and down to Sonic for half price shakes, helped clean the church, tended Jolley's and Jensen's several times, and started riding my bike on the trainer more regularly. I also finished a rag quilt for Sarah.

Matthew hosted book club and EQ game night, went with the youth to do baptisms at the Temple, and helped paint the Jolley's garage. He also went to the dentist twice: once for a routine cleaning and checkup, and then again to get a new crown for a tooth whose filling was falling apart.

Now that school is out, we've started our no screen time portion of the summer, which so far is going extremely well. It's amazing how imaginations get fired up when computer games and tv shows aren't even an option. We've also increased piano practicing time to an hour a day and have added reading and writing practice to the mix.

Also of note, today would have been my dear Grandma's 92nd birthday. I wish she could know my sweet babies and that they could feel her soft fingertips and hear her sing silly songs. I miss her so much sometimes and hope that on occasion she gets the chance to look down on us.
