Week in Review

On Monday Mercy and I met Hannah and her girls at Park West to walk. We also did the normal Monday chores and had Family Night.

Matthew wasn't feeling well on Tuesday so he took a sick day. I spent most of the morning in the kitchen making a lemon cream tart and an angel food cake. Both were new for me and neither turned out as well as I would have liked. They were at least edible. That evening I took my tart to a pie night Relief Society activity and Matthew hosted book club.

Mercy and I went grocery shopping Wednesday morning. In the afternoon we took advantage of the boys' early release day and met Hannah and several of her Family School friends at the dollar movies and saw Lego Batman. We got home in time for a quick dinner, then I dropped Hyrum off at scouts, picked up Dixie, and we went to our book club.

We mostly did chores on Thursday and in the evening fed the missionaries dinner.

Yesterday I dropped Mercy off at the Jolley's at 9:30, then went up to REI to check out their big annual sale. I mostly wanted to try on a few things so I'd know how they fit, then planned to possibly purchase online. It was crazy busy, which stresses me out, but I'm glad I tried on the shorts I was thinking of buying because I didn't end up liking them. I then went over to Painted Sky at 11:30 where I met Abraham and his class for their end of year party. The weather in the morning was cold and windy, but the sun came out and the wind died down enough to make it sufficiently pleasant to be outside. After the picnic, I met Mindy at our house where she dropped off Mercy and Riker. I had made arrangements to watch Ammon and Micah as well, but Becky hurt her back which derailed their date plans and made me unnecessary. Mindy dropped the rest of her boys off at 3:30 and she and Dave went to go close on their new house. My boys got home at 4:00, we had pizza for dinner, and the Jolley's returned for their kids at 6:00. At 7:30 Hannah, Mindy, and I joined up to walk to Sonic for 1/2 price shakes. Dan and Lindsey Stewart met us there and it was a fun little gathering.

Today Matthew spent from 8:45 am until 7:15 pm helping Dave paint the garages at their new house. The kids and I went to help clean the church at 9:00 am, then Mindy dropped her boys off at our house for the day. While the men painted, she went to a baby shower then worked on sealing grout. I had the task of tending all the kids. We spent the day in shifts of screen time and forced outside time. I'm grateful that while my kids do like their video games and show watching, they are completely capable of enjoying other activities without counting down the minutes until they can get back in front of the computer or TV. Mindy took her kids home around 7:00 pm. I hurried and bathed my three and got them into bed, then helped Matthew clean up for Elder's Quorum game night. I watched a show to decompress, and the game the Elder's played only lasted until 10:00 pm.

We were both more than ready to call it a week and go to sleep when the time finally came.
