Lesson: Hyrum told us about some of the things Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount and bore his simple, sweet testimony of repentance*
Treat: Abraham chose to have us finish off the lemon trifle we won at the auction
Activity: Dad succumbed to the pleas of his children and played Minecraft Story mode
*Yesterday during a sharing time activity Hyrum and Luci were pretty mean to Kaden. They refused to pair up with him as we looked up some scriptures, and Kaden was visibly hurt by their actions. We talked to Hyrum about it on the way home from church and he came to see how he hurt his classmate's feelings. Considering how often other kids hurt his own feelings, Hyrum felt genuinely bad and took the initiative to write an apology note. I drove him over to Kaden's house for him to deliver it and say sorry in person. In the car we discussed the steps of repentance and right there, on the corner of Unser and Tierra Pintada, Hyrum bowed his head and prayed for forgiveness. He then delivered his note, made his apology, and on the way home expressed how happy and warm he felt after repenting. It was definitely a good learning experience for him.
