A Weekend With the Johnson's

Grandma and Grandpa J and Aunt Jennifer arrived on Friday morning. We had a nice time visiting before lunch, then after grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, everyone went down for naps or quiet time while I went to the dentist for my annual cleaning and check up. We had enchiladas when Matthew and Hyrum got home, then opened up all the presents Grandma brought for the kids.

Hyrum got some new pajamas and a bouncy ball one sits on. Abraham got a marble machine and some new church clothes. Both boys got foam swords and shields, which were a big hit. Mercy got some new outfits and a little shopping cart with a bunch of pretend food.

On Saturday we went to Explora, a hands-on science museum for kids. It's a great place and everyone had a lot of fun. I'm glad we bought a pass because I definitely plan on going back. We drove over to the Aquarium for lunch at the cafe there, then spent some time looking at the fish. After naps and dinner of pitas & hummus with Greek salad, the evening was spent playing games and cuddling with cute little girls.

Sunday we all went to church, came home for quiet time, and Matthew made pizza for dinner. We decided to have Family night a day early since the next two days would be crazy busy getting ready for our Utah trip. We made a salt dough nativity and used our creations to play out the Christmas story. It was probably the most successful FHE we've had. It was fun to have some family here to kick off the holiday celebrations. My parents and sister leave tomorrow morning, then I will make a mad dash to get all our final presents and plans finished up.
