On Sunday we used one of the pork butts we got last week to make a batch of sausages.
Hyrum spent his lunch break on Monday building a sled out of pieces taken from a broken air hockey table.
After school, Abraham and I went out to pick up his new glasses. We also went to the Walmart near the eye doctor. We had to stand in line for about half an hour and entertained ourselves and a couple of old ladies behind us by playing soccer with a small rock. Our main goal was to procure ugly sweaters for everyone, and we were reasonably successful. Mercy's wasn't exactly ugly, but it was on sale and came with matching pants so we figured it would suit our needs.
The kids were up and focused early on Tuesday and got most of their school work done before lunch. I did another round of pork butt prep and Hyrum had virtual Young Men's that evening. Wednesday and Thursday were typical days filled with seminary, walking Mabel, school, cycling, a trip to the library, dinner, and family time. We had our end of semester seminary assessment yesterday morning, then spent the rest of the day celebrating Matthew's birthday.
Today was pretty much entirely spent playing Dragon Quest VI. The mother of two of my seminary students is a hairdresser and was finally able to come over and fix up Mercy's hair. She attempted to cut herself some bangs a couple weeks ago, and while she didn't totally butcher it, it definitely needed some help. Because of the Covid shutdown, we had to wait a while before in person activities such as haircuts was appropriate. Connie cut a few inches off the bottom to even up the length, and then trimmed up the bangs a little to make them look like they were done on purpose.
