Christmas

Matthew and I woke up naturally at 5:00 am. He went downstairs to turn on all the Christmas lights, then came back to bed. Abraham joined us just after 6:00 and we made him wait until 6:30 to wake his siblings. We went downstairs and looked through our stockings, then watched the Nativity video on our new projector. Then it was finally time for presents.

Mercy got lots and lots of dolls - 4 men, 2 women, 1 teenage girl, 1 little boy, 1 little girl, 3 babies, and 2 dogs, along with with a nursery setup, a Barbie car, and a stroller. She also got a color chemistry set, a miniature harp, some clothes and shoes, and a book on how to make doll clothes along with some material and sewing machine needles.

Abraham's big present this year was an ipad. Some of the specific apps we installed include Procreate (drawing), Flip (music), and Zwift (running). He also got a remote control quadcopter, a synthesizer soldering kit, and a Lego book.

Hyrum asked for a received all the supplies to build a forge. He also got a new amp for his electric guitar, a remote control helicopter, and a learn to paint miniatures kit along with a wet palette and nice brush.

Matthew got me new tires for my bike, along with a bicycle cleaning kit, two Victorinox knives, and a double boiler pot. I got him a delux Nerf gun that can hold and shoot 200 balls at a crazy fast rate and some fancy pepperoni. Matthew's parents gifted us a ceramic pizza oven, and my mom gave him a pair of Kuhl pants and me a new pair of cycling bibs. Our family gifts included the projector, electronic drums, a board game, and a pickleball set.

We spent the morning playing with our new toys, burning boxes and wrapping paper, and eating all the candy and treats our stomachs could handle. We Skyped for about an hour with Grandma and Grandpa Kress, then took Mabel for a walk. In the afternoon we made an attempt to all eat some real food, watched Home Alone, and played several rounds of Among Us

After cleaning up a bit, we spent the evening playing Dragon Quest together. It was a lovely, relaxed, low key day. It was so relaxed, in fact, that I hardly took a single picture. I tried to say "yes" as often as I could and my phone sat in the corner most of the day as I made my best effort to be present and fully engaged in what was going on. It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone and now we just have a couple more days left in 2020.
