Matthew, Jeb, and Robbie got up early to go fishing. Cora and Abraham joined them, and I walked down to the beach not long after. The sunrise was beautiful and the air cool and crisp. October is definitely the time to go to Mexico. Matthew caught rock bass, trigger fish, and leather jacket.
Hannah brought the rest of the kids down around 8:30. Cora and Abraham hadn't had breakfast and Mercy needed the restroom, so Hannah and I walked the three of them back to the house. Hyrum and Luci fished with their fathers. By 9:30 we were all back together and settled in for a day at the beach. Abraham love, love, loved getting tossed about by the water breaking on the shore. He and Cora rolled around in the shallow waves tirelessly for hours. Mercy stayed on the beach and played happily in the sand. Hyrum did a bit of both.
The rest of us enjoyed the various joys of the beach. Matthew kept trying to fish, Hannah ordered mangoes and a pina colada from a local vending along the shore, and Robbie initiated the digging of a giant hole. I even got in and played in the ocean for a bit. It was a perfect day at the beach.
We packed up mid afternoon and went back to the house to clean up and rest for an hour.
We then went to a delicious little street shop for tacos. We got half carne asada (beef) and half carne al pastor (pork) and they were SO so good with the sauce and the cabbage and the soda out of glass bottles. It was the stuff taco dreams are made of.

We then spent the rest of the afternoon at the touristy shopping district. It was crowded and loud and haggling isn't my favorite. We ended up getting Mercy a hammock chair and the boys got wooden key chains. On our way back to the car, we stopped at a cart for churros and a fried banana that wasn't nearly as delicious as I hoped it would be.
On the way back to the beach house, we stopped at two different mercados for some more deliberate grocery shopping. The kids enjoyed popsicles, though Mercy started not feeling so great and had a hard time finishing hers.
Back at the house, we enjoyed more quesadillas and watched The Princess Bride.
