I left a little after 9:00 am yesterday morning to pick up Des. We stopped by the store for several packages of cookies, then went to the church to set up for the primary program practice. The run through went extremely well. We were only missing five kids and everyone was very well behaved and cooperative. We were able to identify a few things to change and it was good for the children to have a feel for what was going to happen. Afterwards we served pizza and cookies in the gym. We ordered 12 pizzas and there were only 13 slices and two cookies remaining when the last kids left, so our estimate on how much food we'd need could hardly have been closer.
At 3:30 pm Harry, Scott, and Ryker came over while their parents went on a date to Lantern Fest. We played Minecraft, the Lord of the Rings Lego video game, and built castles. Matthew left for D&D just after 7:00 and the Jolley's came to collect their children at 7:30. Matthew got home sometime after midnight.
I left for ward council this morning at 8:15 and stayed after the meeting to set up chairs on the stand for the primary program. Mercy sat with Hannah and Jeb while Matthew, the boys, and I participated in the program. It went really well. Nothing terribly disruptive or silly happened, the kids all sang wonderfully and recited their speaking parts well. It ran smoothly, though because one of the two kids who didn't show was supposed to give a talk, the whole thing ended early. All things considered, I'm very pleased and am happy to have that particular weight lifted off my shoulders until next year.
Matthew went to choir practice this afternoon at 4:00, then our home teachers came at 5:30 and stayed until almost 7:00 pm. I got a quick dinner into the kids and put them to bed while Matthew ran down to the Shaw's to help give Ryan a blessing. Mercy was up again half an hour later and stayed awake with us until Matthew and I went upstairs for the night at 9:30. She took a late nap and I fear it is likely going to be a long night of escorting her back to bed over and over again.

The theme for Primary this year was I Know My Savior Lives.
The songs we sang:
I Know that my Savior Loves Me
Tell Me the Stories of Jesus
He Sent His Son
The Church of Jesus Christ
The 4th Article of Faith
The Holy Ghost
Follow the Prophet
A Child's Prayer
I hope they Call Me on a Mission
Come Follow Me
Abraham's part:
My favorite story about Jesus is when He was surrounded by the little children and He prayed for them.
Hyrum's part:
When we pray, we begin by saying "Dear Heavenly Father." Then we thank Him for blessings and ask Him for blessings, and then we close by saying "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

I think Primary presidents earn their angel wings after those programs. They seem like SO MUCH WORK! Good job, you!
