Anniversary, Hyrum, and the Hobbit

On Monday we had Family Night and I did my bike ride. It was an hour and 45 minute ride and I didn't get started until after the kids were in bed, so it turned into a rather late night.

Tuesday was our eight year wedding anniversary. Matthew got me a lovely bouquet of yellow roses and for dinner I made him roast beef and Asiago sandwiches on onion bagels with chips and root beer.

Matthew came home an hour early on Wednesday so we could both attend Hyrum's parent teacher conference. His teacher said Hyrum is doing well academically. He is very intelligent and picks up on new concepts quickly. He does tend to get distracted by what's going on around him and is often unable to finish his work because he is so concerned with what his neighbors are doing. His biggest issue is tattling on others. She told us some of the terminology she uses at school (big fish vs. little fish) so we can be consistent with how we encourage appropriate behavior at home.

Our friend Ryan, the guy Matthew carpools with, just had knee surgery and has been in a lot of pain and not healing well, so Wednesday night Matthew had him and a couple other buddies over to eat snacks and watch the third Hobbit movie. I rode while they watched.
