The Birthday Party

On Thursday evening I went to bookclub.

Friday morning I hosted play group, then Mercy and I went shopping while Abraham was at school. That evening the boys went down to the Shaw's house for Kaleb's birthday party while I sewed ninja hoods.

First thing this morning we went to help clean the church. Abraham's birthday party started at 2:00 pm. The guests included Harry, Scott, and Ryker Jolley (as well as their mom), Jack and Nora Sandgren, Luci and Cora Brown, and Kaleb Shaw. They each got a ninja hood and belt when they arrived and the first ten minutes were spent playing ninjas on the trampoline. It got pretty wild though and was a short lived activity.

We dumped out the bucket of D&D building pieces that Matthew has been casting and all eleven kids played harmoniously with them for nearly two solid hours. I practically had to pry them away to open presents and eat cake.

Abraham wanted a chocolate pudding cake and he wanted it to look like the Green Ninja from Ninjago. I made a yellow cake, put pudding between the layers, and because I was short on time, sent Matthew out to pick up some green frosting. The only thing he could find was watermelon flavored, but I figured they were kids and looks were more important than taste. Everyone agreed that it looked awesome, but they also unanimously agreed that it was disgusting. I guess you live and learn.

The party was fun and I think everyone had a good time. The brown's were the last to pick up their kids and they ended up visiting for over an hour. Matthew went to play D&D and I did my bike ride after the kids were in bed.
