Two of the families moving out of the ward this summer have already left. Two more, Becky and Kjirstin, pack up and leave next week. We just found out that Brie, who is not a member but has been integrated into the group as much as anyone, is moving to Indiana at the end of the month. I'm sad to see these wonderful women leave, but so grateful for the opportunity to have known and spent a season with them.
There was a lot on my to do list for this past week, but most of my days ended up being spent in the company of the good friends we will soon be saying good bye to. On Monday we went to Miami park for free lunch with Kjirstin, then we spent an hour and a half down at the splash pad with Becky and Hannah.
On Tuesday morning we met up at Park West with Becky, Kjirstin, Hannah, and Ashley to go walking while the kids played. Becky, Hannah, and I stayed for free lunch at the park.
Wednesday morning Becky, Hannah, and I went walking again, but we didn't stay for lunch. That evening Hannah and her girls came over for Matthew's homemade pizza, after which Hannah and I went on a quick bike ride. It was a pretty short one because Matthew came home early with a stomach bug and I didn't want to leave him alone with all the kids for too long.
Several of us spent Thursday morning at the zoo.
Ashley, Mindy, Becky, Brie, Kjirstin, me, Hannah
most of the kids (there were 21 in total)
This morning was playgroup at the Mirehaven park. I had a dentist appointment, so we got there a bit late, but I'm glad we made the effort to go. We'll see Kjirstin again next week for free lunch on Monday and that afternoon there's a baby shower for Brie. I'm tending Becky's kids while the movers pack up their house on Tuesday, but after that they'll be gone. I really can't say enough how grateful I am for good Mama friends.
