This morning for Mom's & Tot's we met at Loeb Fountain on Purdue's campus. This was on my summer bucket list, so even though I wasn't feeling very well, I thought the kids would really enjoy the experience so I collected all the gear and loaded everyone into the van. The boys were so excited as I talked it up on the way there, but despite seeing his friends running around squealing with glee, Hyrum stuck his toe on the wet ground about a foot away from the spraying water and spent the next half hour like this:
Abraham was completely gung-ho and got himself nice at wet as soon as we got there. But then he saw Hyrum hanging back and decided he was going to be shy as well. He wasn't content to sit on the stroller wrapped in a towel, however, and insisted instead on clinging to my side, getting me quite soggy and making it difficult to visit with friends or follow Mercy around. As for my littlest, she wasn't so interested in getting too close to the spraying jets of water, but she toddled around looking darling in her little girly swimming suit.
About ten minutes before everyone started leaving, Hyrum decided maybe the fountain wasn't so scary after all and Abraham quickly left my side to follow his brother into the fray. They had a blast, until their friends all left and they started fighting over a balloon someone had left behind.
