We went to the Shaw's Halloween party yesterday after school, then trick or treating. It had been overcast and rainy, but the weather cleared by late afternoon so while it was colder than is has been in years past, at least it was dry. Spencer came with us and I took everyone up and down Stormcloud, then looped around and up the street behind ours. The kids' buckets were full, so we stopped at home to empty them, then I traded places with Matthew to had out juice pouches while he took everyone out for another 40 minutes. Mercy went out the second time this year and did a better job keeping up than Abraham! We had around 140 trick-or-treaters come to our house this year, our smallest year so far. I'm attributing it to the chilly weather.
The kids were pleased with their haul and have enjoyed sorting and trading candy. I've let them keep roughly 50 pieces for themselves. We've also got the stash of Reese's and M&M's for baking, a bag I'm setting aside until Christmas for their stockings, a bag for some secret Santa antics, and then the rest will be donated to Bishop's after church candy stash.
