Summer - Week 3

Matthew and I substituted in Mercy’s primary class on Sunday. Matthew had a stake youth committee meeting in the evening, but unfortunately he got the time wrong and drove all the way down to the stake center only to arrive an hour late.

In the afternoon we did piano and cleaned bathrooms, then did Milo and Family Night. I also gave Matthew and Hyrum haircuts.

In the afternoon we finally made it to the grocery store. Matthew had a dentist appointment at 3 and was therefore home a bit earlier than usual. I took advantage of this to run to Sprouts by myself.

Thursday
8-8:40 – Milo
9-10:00 – we knew we had a busy afternoon, so we skipped swim team so the boys could get their piano done and I could do some meal prep
10:15-10:50 – Mercy swimming lesson
11-11:15 – quick stop at home to change clothes
11:15-1:15 – playing and potluck lunch with Jensen’s and Richardson’s at Becky’s house

I left Abraham and Mercy at the Jensen’s and Hyrum and I went and did Milo, then we drove to UNM campus for Hyrum to participate in a brain study. The research is a comparison between healthy brains and fetal alcohol brains. Hyrum got hooked up to a bunch of electrodes and then did tasks like blinking when told and pushing a button when he saw different numbers. It took about 2.5 hours and at the end of it he got $50. When he was done, we quickly stopped by Walmart for the supplies to make seven layer dip, picked up Abraham and Mercy, then went home to make seven layer dip. We then hurried over to the Jeb Brown’s for a potluck dinner, in the middle of which Matthew took Hyrum to take care of Milo and I left for about 45 minutes for a previously scheduled walk with one of my ministering sisters. I took the kids home around 8:45 and Matthew stayed to watch the opening game of the World Cup.

Friday
8-8:40 – Milo
9-10:00 – Swim team
10:15-10:50 – Mercy swimming lesson (she passed the pod with full marks!)
11-11:15 – quick stop at home to change clothes
11:30-12:30 – Park lunch at the Purple Park
12:30-1 – Milo

They boys hurried and got their piano done so they could go play at the Jolley’s. While they were gone, Mercy’s friend Alora came to our house to play. I spent my afternoon cleaning out dresser drawers, folding laundry, and helping with preparations for another fishing expedition. After Milo, Matthew and Abraham left for Cochiti Lake.
