Week in Review

At church on Sunday, I helped teach Mercy's primary class during second hour. During third hour the men took over all the auxiliary callings and the women all met in the gym for cheesecake and visiting. For my Mother's day meal, Matthew made homemade pizza for the first time in over a year. It was delicious!

Monday was the typical laundry, shopping, blogging, and FHE.

Riker and Olivia came over to play on Tuesday morning. The new compressor for the refrigerator finally came and the repair guy was scheduled to come a bit after 11am. Matthew was able to move some meetings around so he could be here during the repair. He got home a bit before I had to take the littles to school, so he and Riker got in a few rounds of Wii frisbee while the girls played with Shopkins on the couch. The repair took several hours, as there was also a leak that needed fixing, but by about 3:30pm we could faintly hear the quiet hum of a working refrigerator! In the evening Matthew had his book club.

Wednesday was early day for preschool, so Matthew dropped off Mercy and Riker and as soon as the boys were off on the bus, I picked up a new friend in the ward, Mikaela, and we went to the Temple. It was lovely to do a session again after the extended closing. The endowment rooms got a makeover and they looked really nice. I got home minutes before the boys, and as soon as we all changed our clothes and had some lunch, we headed over to Mirehaven park to play with friends. I brought Spencer and Esther home with us and they stayed until it was time for cub scouts and activity days.

Matthew and I attended Mercy's end of year parent teacher conference on Thursday morning. She is doing well and is right on track, if not a bit ahead, for first grade. Matthew went straight to work after the meeting, and Mercy and I ran some errands. As soon as she was off to school, I headed over to Painted Sky in hopes of catching the end of Hyrum's 3rd grade picnic. Unfortunately, I got there just as they were heading back to class. Luckily, they had recess next so I was still able to hang out with him for a bit. I had agreed to help Abraham's teacher decorate for their end of year party, so at noon I headed over to his classroom and worked on decorations until it was time for preschool pickup.

Mercy woke up around 6:00 this morning in tears that her ear hurt. Thankfully Dave was willing to stop by on his way home from his night shift to tell me if she had an infection and if I needed to take her to our pediatrician. He confirmed the need to take her in and I was able to get an appointment just half an hour after the boys left for school. Our doctor also diagnosed an infection and prescribed antibiotics. He said she could go to school if she wanted, but put the kabosh on the camping trip we had planned for this weekend. We went to Walmart to pick up her medicine and camping food for the boys, then I dropped her off at school. I got the Highlander packed up and ready, and Matthew came home early, picking the boys up from school on his way home. They left as planned for Fenton Lake to spend the weekend fishing with Jeb and Cora. I picked Mercy up and once home she spent a solid two hours napping on my arm. We took a short walk after our simple supper, and then she was ready for bed. I'm pretty bummed that I didn't get to go camping, but it was probably best that Mercy stayed home.
