Saturday Snapshots

Mercy and I had a very full day while the boys were in the mountains fishing. We started it off by taking our turn to help clean the church building. Next we went to Smiths to capitalize on a sale on butter, then back home to drop off our haul. Mercy was feeling much better than she was yesterday, so I decided to throw away my list of chores for the day and take her to Explora. We arrived around 10:30 to discover a giant street fair being set up. Turns out it was Science Fiesta, with booths ranging from dry ice experiments and baking soda rockets to horticulture exhibits and telescope arrays. There were robotics classes, live music, and lots of food trucks. It was quite the event and we stayed to check out the fair, as well as the museum, for about four hours. Mercy's stamina and positive attitude were impressive considering her earache, so when she politely thanked me for the outing and let me know she was getting tired and asked if we could get lunch at Burger King, I obliged. After lunch we came home and bathed, then headed out again, this time to a baptism. We got home from that around 5:30, and Dad and the boys got home about half an hour later.

Matthew didn't take any pictures of their adventures, but they did come home with 7 fish, all caught by the boys. Matthew caught one too, but he sent his trout home with Jeb. Their report was that it was very cold at night and that it was super windy on the lake. The boat was not all Matthew had hoped it would be and he spent most of the time rowing just to keep them off shore. Abraham caught his limit at the hatchery though, and they all caught a fish on the lake, so the trip as a whole was deemed a success.
