Uncle Wes came to visit us this weekend. Matthew and Abraham went to pick him up from the airport around noon on Friday, then went to Sadie's for lunch. We made a quick trip to Walmart and Home Depot before Hyrum got home at 4:00. The boys all had lots of fun playing on the trampoline before we enjoyed Matthew's pizza for dinner. That evening Matthew and Wes went up to the Route 66 casino for a couple hours. Matthew watched woodworking videos on his phone, and once Wes had broken even, they came home.
We spent Saturday morning in downtown Albuquerque. We walked around Old Town and browsed through some of the shops for about an hour, then spent another hour at Explora. Hyrum stayed in the craft room just about the entire time while I followed Mercy around and Abraham hung out with his Dad and uncle.
The kids and I got dropped off at home for lunch and quiet time while Matthew and Wes went to a Peruvian restaurant. They stopped by the wood store while they were out, and swung by Old Town again. The little boys spent the afternoon playing in Hyrum's room with Daddy's Lego's. The plan for the evening meal was to roast hot dogs outside over a fire, but the boys didn't clean up when they were asked to, and they dawdled when they did finally get around to it, so they got microwaved hot dogs and chips for dinner and then it was time for bed. We adults roasted our franks and chatted a while over a little fire outside before calling it a night.
Today we had French Toast and sausage for breakfast and enjoyed a leisurely Sunday morning. Matthew dropped the boys and I off at church, then took Wes to the airport. He and Mercy joined us again about half way through Sacrament Meeting. It was a fun little visit and we are glad Wes took the effort to come see us.
