Round Two

Megan was kind enough to come over and watch the kids on Tuesday morning while I went to my follow up appointment. The doctor discovered some tissue and tried to remove it manually, which was rather painful. He then did an ultrasound to make sure everything was out, and found that it was not. I was still bleeding more than he liked and it was decided I needed an emergency d&c that afternoon. I came home to get the kids and let Megan take her girls home for nap time. We then picked Matthew up from work. He went over to the church to drop off all the stuff for Pack meeting and leave instructions for the den leader who agreed to take over. Megan came back at 2:30 and Matthew and I headed to the hospital. My surgery was scheduled for 5:00, but they were able to get me in an hour earlier. The procedure went well, I recovered from the anesthesia in a reasonable time, and we were in and out in only four hours.

I was required to have adult supervision for 24 hours, which was totally necessary as the medicine they sent me home on left me loopy and completely useless for a full day. Matthew took yesterday and today off to tend to me. Ashley brought over lunch, Becky brought us dinner, and Mary Rose dropped off some flowers and a pie. I'm overwhelmed at the love that has been poured out on our family. The bleeding has almost entirely stopped and other than a lingering headache, I'm feeling so much better than I have in months, and certainly than I have in the past ten days. I do not wish to repeat this experience, but I am grateful for what I have learned from it.

I love you. The end. Except this: did Matthew get any video of you while you were loopy?

;-)
