An Afternoon Outside

Because it seems I can never have enough pictures of my kids playing in the yard, here's a few shots of how our afternoon went down.

Matthew brought out some sunflower seeds...

...which Mercy was very interested in, but which no one would allow her to have.

She eventually gave up her quest for a share of the snack, and wandered over to the neighbor's fence where she became very excited about the dogs she could see through the cracks. She burst out laughing, which made the dogs start barking, which terrified the poor girl and made her cry her cute pouty face, that kind of hurt my feelings cry.

After a little bit of love, she meandered over to the stroller I had left out from a morning walk,

and inevitably ended up at the dump truck, which she loves.

Meanwhile, little kid Matthew and the boys enjoyed peanut butter sandwiches in the shade of the tree (which I ran in to make for them sometime between the barking dog and climbing on the stroller).
