With the end of day light savings, Matthew and I have set the goal to get up at 6:30 again. So far it hasn't been hard since the boys seem to have a built in alarm clock and wake up on their own around that time. I shouldn't be surprised, but somehow I can't help but be astonished at how much one can accomplish when the day starts before 8am. I've been able to exercise, get dressed, and start my day with a clean kitchen and laundry running before Matthew even leaves the house. I've also noticed I've been in a better mood and less inclined to get as frustrated with the boys (or at least my patience lasts a bit longer into the day). Granted it's only been a couple days, but I have already regained my testimony of the old adage early to bed early to rise...
Speaking of getting things done, today has been a productive one. Matthew and I were able to vote at the church where Hyrum goes to preschool. We waited in line behind three people for a total of maybe a minute. We then stopped by the grocery store to pick up a prescription (I love when someone can wait in the car with Abraham so the other can run in real quick with out having to re-carseat him mere minutes after he gets out). Braums and I dropped Matthew off on campus then went to the bank to get a paper notarized. Then it was over the river to the other side of town to pick up another document we needed. Unfortunately the government office was closed because of the election, so all we could do was turn around and drive back. Bummer. It meant however that we could make it to the Mom's & Tot's activity at the local gymnastics place. They have open gym mornings and it's such a great way for a little boy to get out some pent up energy. Plus, I get to visit with the mama's so it's a win-win. I was a few minutes late picking Hyrum up from school because I got stuck in voting traffic. Glad we were able to get it done early! It was then home for lunch and naps, after which Hyrum and I made molasses cookies. They didn't turn out as good as I had hoped, but the boys gobbled them up so I guess they're not that bad. For dinner I'm trying out a new recipe to doctor up some boxed scalloped potatoes we got for 25 cents, then it's off to cooking group (the theme of the night is "it starts from a box"... hence the experimental recipe. Hopefully it turns out!)
And because, once again, I don't really have any new or relevant pictures, here's one I took of Hyrum a couple weeks ago that makes me laugh. There's just something about it, maybe the perspective or his face or those skinny little legs... it's just awkward enough to make it interesting.
