Kress Family Vacation: Day 4

Everyone said that the National Zoo was a definite must on the list of things to do in DC, so that's what today was dedicated to. As an added bonus, one of my dear roommates from BYU and her family live two hours from the Capitol and they made the trip in the heat to spend the day with us. We started out watching an octopus feeding, and eventually made our way around to most of the exhibits. Hyrum especially loved seeing the panda, but was pretty thrilled with nearly all the animals he saw. It's fun that he's reached a more interested, interactive stage. Matthew ran across the street from the zoo and got us lunch from 7-11, and eith several snacks and sippy cup refills, the boys lasted until about 4:30pm. The zoo is one long hill and it's quite a trek from the end back up to the entrance. I'm so glad Matthew was there to help push the stroller because on my own I'm sure it would have easily taken us three times as long just to exit the park. We enjoyed (another) slurpee on the walk home and after dropping us off at the hotel, Matthew made a quick trip to CVS to pick up some dinner: ice cream, Skittles, Swedish Fish, cookies, and potato chips. Awesome. Abraham had another rough night (mostly due to teething) and was again in bed with us by midnight.

Braums totally passed out in the stroller during the long walk up the hill

Hyrum had gotten himself dressed and put both his shirt and shorts on backwards

Huh?
