Getting Stuff Done

August is a slow time for particle physics. Turns out most of Europe takes the month off and since the majority of people in Matthew's group are on vacation, nobody really misses him too much if he spends a little less time in the office. Today he opted to "work from home". We've been spending a couple hours every evening working on the new floors, but this project is dragging on forever and we needed to just get some things done. Here's a little spoiler:

Because we still have all the appliances sitting in the garage, doing laundry has been a bit tricky. I've done loads at three different friends' homes, but with the amount we let pile up (thinking the house would be back together soon) I decided that two kids and seven baskets of dirty clothes was just too much to impose on anyone. Matthew had a genius idea though. I don't know why we didn't think of this a month ago:

And I'm pleased to report that we have successfully held Family Night six weeks in a row. This is something we've struggled with and have made a goal to improve upon. Hooray for us!

I love extra time off from work like that. I hope it gets done soon, can't wait to see.

If I lived in your neighborhood, I'd do your wash for you. I like to do wash.
