Abraham Update

With all the craziness going on, I haven't had much time to post about the boys. Abraham is growing up so fast I can hardly believe it. He is 8 months old now and definitely past the alert but immobile stage. Some of these pictures were taken in Utah, but the milestones are still worth mentioning.

He started sitting by himself just about the time we left Indiana (late May early June). He couldn't get himself back up once he fell over, but he'd roll all over to get where he wanted to go. By the beginning of July though he could sit himself up, and it didn't take long for him to get crawling down. He now can pull himself to standing using the couch or a chair, and will walk while holding my hands. This kid is into everything

He started eating baby cereal once he could sit up, and it made a huge difference. He slept better and seemed generally happier. About a month ago he started eating fruits, veggies and finger foods like crackers and cheerios. He loves to eat and there really hasn't been anything he doesn't like. He does however appear to have some of the same allergic reactions that Matthew has to carrots and bananas. Also of note, he now has two little teeth on the bottom.

His developing gross motor skills have also made it possible to loose the bathing chair and let him play in the bathtub, which he loves. Sometimes the boys can bathe happily together, but it takes a lot of supervision and doesn't usually last long. Hyrum likes to "help" wash brother and has a propensity of dumping water in his face.

Abraham had his extra finger removed and wore the bandage for about two weeks. There was a bit of an infection, but it cleared up and now he's foot loose and finger free.

Abraham is definitely a social guy and likes to be around the family. He loves his big brother and is fascinated with everything he does. I hope Hyrum lives up to his namesake and is a good example because I foresee Abraham following in his footsteps. Abraham is very persistent and does not easily forget what he's after. "Out of sight out of mind" does not work for this guy. He also prefers the big boy toys over his stuffed animals and teething rings. Even when Hyrum isn't around Abraham is drawn to the tools and balls and books. He's still very much a mama's boy and likes to be held and loved on. I don't mind though because he is such a sweet cuddly guy.
