Highlights Week 9

There's been some conflict and contention surrounding our morning routines, so on Sunday we threw away the old chore chart and started anew with everyone's goals. Even though their "chores" were aligned with the goals they had set for themselves, we thought maybe their attitudes would improve if their perception of the goals was reset. Everyone chose to cut back more than Matthew and I thought was necessary, and there's been a bit of a pendulum swing with conflict arising due to too much time on their hands, but certainly attitudes have improved, so I guess that aim was reached. We'll keep at this for a month then reassess.

I spent most of this past week editing the Board Balm video, which went live on Friday, and walking. I've decided that with Trek coming up and some other possible fun hiking opportunities in the works, I'm going to focus my physical goals around becoming a really excellent walker. I also got to have lunch with a friend, which was good since I've been a bit antisocial lately. We sat out on the patio and I got a bit sun-kissed. I've really enjoyed the warmer weather this week.

Abraham made a goal to spend more time outside too, which has lifted his spirits immensely, and consequently made life nicer for everyone.

It was Dr. Seuss week at school and for "Oh, The Places You'll Go" day, they were supposed to wear college regalia or dress as their hoped for future career. Mercy contemplated what she should wear to dress up as a mom and decided on a t-shirt and yoga pants, which I guess in all honesty is just about right.

The youth had a giant nerf battle for their activity on Thursday, which of course we had to practice for by building our own massive fort in the loft and testing out all the guns.

Cassie and Beto got tickets to Cirque du Soleil, so we got to babyside Lucas and Viviana this evening. The kids did a great job entertaining Lucas, and I got to snuggle the baby, so it was a win for everyone.

And here's two more pictures from the week, just for fun.
