Week in Review

I made a whole lot more ricotta last week, then used most of it to make homemade gnudi (which is like gnocchi but with ricotta instead of potato). They were a big hit, and fortunately, I made enough that I could freeze a whole meal's worth to serve to Matthew's family when they come in a few weeks. The little dumplings used 12 egg yolks, leaving me with a ton of egg whites, which meant we enjoyed angel food cake for dessert.

Hyrum got a long overdue haircut.

Because of different school schedules, my seminary students got some home study assignments and we only had class twice this week.

We had a fancified version of the traditional St. Patrick's day meal. It took me a good chunk of the afternoon to put together and I had so much fun trying some new techniques and plating such a pretty meal. As an added bonus, it turned out delicious!

The kids and I went on our field trip.

I've been suffering from headaches again lately, and got a pretty bad migraine that stuck me in bed from mid afternoon until almost 8:00 am the next morning.

We started a new Friday night show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The kids and I worked a couple times in the back yard moving rocks and pulling up weed barrier in preparation for putting in a sprinkler system. This morning we cleared away the temporary brick path on the East side of the house, laid down the weed barrier that we pulled up from the middle of the yard, and finally emptied Susan's rocks out of the back of the truck.
