After two weeks of paid quarantine, Matthew was finally cleared to go back to work on Monday afternoon. He didn't get the okay until it was too late to actually go in, so he got one last day of vacation. We caught a rabbit in the trap at the Jolley's and let it loose in the backyard for Mabel, but unfortunately it escaped through the gate. We had set up a barrier, but it still managed to elude us.
On Tuesday evening we delivered a "DIY Rock Kit" to Luci. When we got Abraham's electric guitar last year, it came damaged. Instead of having us return it, they just sent another. Matthew fixed up the damaged one so Luci could try it out without having to buy one. We included a big pack of stickers for her to decorate it with, along with a strap, some picks, a cord, and our old junky amp. We figured an electric guitar wasn't much use without some way to learn how to play it, so we also got her Rock Smith, which is the program Matthew and Hyrum use to practice. Perhaps the gift was overkill, but we sure had fun putting it together and we are happy to encourage her interest in rocking out!
We woke up to heavy skies on Wednesday, and by mid morning a lovely blanket of snow had fallen. It was all melted by late afternoon, but it was nice to look out at while we did school. Joe Biden was inaugurated the new president of the United States and we watched the proceedings as our enrichment period for the day. That evening we delivered the Jolley's table.
On Thursday I went on a walk with Mindy during lunch, we did our kid swap with Haley and Olivia, and that evening Matthew had virtual High Council.
On Friday we did chores, played some games, and enjoyed our usual Friday night pizza and show. Today Matthew finished up the bricks. The kids were invited to spend the afternoon at the Barrios, so I dropped them off and Beto brought them home. This evening, Matthew played D&D for the first time in nearly two months.
