Field Trip: South Point Hike

Today for our field trip we hiked in the Petroglyphs National Monument. Matthew dropped us off at the trailhead for the Sister Volcanoes and we hiked the South Point trail home. Today we were on the lookout for lizards. We saw 42 lizards, though one of them was dead and being eaten by ants. Hyrum brought his field guide to wildlife in the Southwestern states and we distinguished at least four different types of lizards. Sadly, they were all so quick and flighty that I didn't get a single good picture. The highlight of the hike was the "canyon" not far from the end, which the boys climbed down into and bushwhacked their way through.
