This morning all five of us headed out on an adventure. We wanted to give Dad an experience in the foothills, but also wanted a chance to actually shoot a rabbit, so we chose a trail in public wilderness land just North of where we hiked last week. We got a later start than was ideal, which meant it was already pretty warm and all the rabbits had settled down for the day when we got there around 9:00. Even though we didn't even see a bunny, it was a really fun hike on it's own accord. Abraham got to climb on more rocks and this time we followed a (very) small stream, which meant the vegetation was much greener and more diverse. It was especially fun to have Dad with us.
This evening Jeb invited us over for duck confit and fish & chips made from the walleye he caught at Abiquiu Lake a couple days ago. Our contribution to the meal was a venison neck roast stew with a variety of root vegetables. The food was delicious, especially the fish, and we always enjoy the Brown's company. An overcast sky turned into an absolute torrential downpour, which rather abruptly ended our evening.
