Week in Review

A storm blew through on Monday night and dropped enough snow on a city wide level to merit a two hour school delay on Tuesday morning. The roads were bad enough on the East side that Sandia was closed all together. Youth activities in the evening were cancelled as well, so the day as a whole kept us relatively home-bound and relaxed.

I spent most of Wednesday making applique hot air balloons and yesterday morning I helped Mrs. Hoehne with a couple of projects in Mercy's classroom. Last night I went over to Hannah's for a "Gal-entines" girls night and stayed far later than I usually do at similar gatherings. It was a lot of fun.

The kids had all the usual elementary school Valentine festivities today, and it was a little sad to see Hyrum marching off for the last time with a homemade box and bag of cards for his classmates. He definitely went out with a bang though and had the biggest box in the 5th grade.

Matthew and I celebrated the holiday of love by working on another wall. While home remodeling projects are definitely one way to my heart, quality kitchen utensils are also a sure bet and Matthew surprised me with a set of three really nice scoops. I gave him some candy and updated family photos for his office. For lunch we used a coupon and Whataburger and regretted our decision almost immediately.

For dinner we used coupons that Grandma sent the kids for free pizzas and chips and watched Ghost Rider on Netflix. It wasn't perhaps the most romantic or exciting day by some standards, but construction work and cuddling up for a family movie night is how we Kress' roll.
