Summer: Week 11

For our August fast, we fasted as a family for the kids' school teachers. Matthew gave them fathers' blessings and I made note of the two things that stood out to me the most for each child:

Hyrum was blessed that he'll know in his heart what is right, and he was instructed that while school and music are important, preparing to receive the Priesthood is most important.
Abraham was told that his Heavenly Father is grateful when he is kind, and was blessed that he'd have the ability to do hard things.
Mercy was blessed that she'd be able to face the trials that she will have, and was encouraged to be a good example.

I substituted for the Sunday School teacher this week and lead the Come, Follow Me discussion during second hour. In the evening we had the Bishop and his family over for dinner and games.

On Monday the Richardson's and Jensen's came over and spent the majority of the day here.

The kids worked hard to get their music and chores done on Tuesday morning, then spent the rest of the day at the Jolley's. While they were gone, I went to a couple different grocery stores and stopped by the library. In the evening I had Activity Days and Matthew went to do some service for a friend.

The kids slept in on Wednesday morning, then took their sweet time getting their music and morning jobs done. We spent the afternoon at Explora.

Thursday was spent baking and cleaning and getting things done. We've been focusing on getting the master bedroom back in order as it's become a dumping ground while we've gotten other parts of the house organized.

Friday was my birthday and we had so much fun celebrating together as a family!

Today I went to the baptism of one of my Activity Days girls, then finished up the back to school shopping. In the afternoon we watched Detective Pikachu and in the evening Matthew went to play D&D.
