Kress Visit: Part 1

Grandma Naomi and Grandpa Kip arrived on Tuesday evening and jumped right into everyday life with us!

On Wednesday, while Matthew was at work and the kids were at school, the three of us went to the temple. We did a session, then spent over an hour doing sealings. I only had a handful of daughters needing to be sealed to their parents, but there was another couple and a sister in our group who both had large stacks of couples as well as children needing to be sealed, so we were able to help with a lot of work. It was wonderful!

In the evening there was an open house at the school and the kids were able to show Grandma and Grandpa their classrooms. Afterwards, Grandma and I went to my book club where we discussed Moon Over Manifest

On Thursday morning, Grandpa asked for a project and was tasked with taking down the swimming pool that had been folded in half by the wind. It was a big job and we are grateful for his service. Grandma and I went to pick some of her beloved cactus fruit, then went to Smith's to stock up on the case lot sale.

In the afternoon we met Matthew just off base, and he took us in for a driving tour. Then we were able to support him at his WIP graduation. I'm not allowed to take pictures on my phone on base, and he wasn't feeling sentimental about it, so I have no photographic documentation of the event, but it happened and we are ever so grateful.

After school, Grandma brought out a little rug making kit and the kids all enjoyed cuddling up with her and adding a few pieces of yarn here and there.

One bit of every day life that Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed was walking the kids to school in the mornings.

While the kids were gone today, Matthew and Grandpa started working on the doors for the shoe closet and music room, while Grandma and I worked on cutting out a couple of quilts. When the kids got home, Grandma brought out some origami paper and an instruction book, and the kids went to town making a frog army. In the evening we enjoyed a smorgasbord of ice cream novelties and watched Shazam.
