We left for Utah at 6:30 on Saturday morning. Hyrum vomited due to motion sickness, Abraham spilled a full cup of water on him at Burger King, and we had to drive through Provo just as a BYU football game was getting out in order to drop off a wedding present which added nearly an hour to our travel time, so compared to past trips this one was somewhat eventful.
We celebrated Abraham's seventh birthday on Sunday. Wes and Derrick seemed to interact with the kids a lot more this time and the evening with them was very enjoyable.
On Monday morning Grandma took us to visit Grandpa at his new DI store. Mercy fell in love with a remarkably clean stuffed Olaf and Grandma succumbed to her quivering lip and puppy dog eyes, much to the rejoicing of all three kids. We then went to the Planetarium for a while. We got free tickets to a show thanks to our Explora pass, but Abraham wasn't feeling well so we went home before the show started. The rest of the day was spent building Abraham's Lego set and watching movies. Sarah arrived in the late afternoon and took Hyrum on a date to get slushies. Grandpa gave us a lesson on opportunity cost for Family Night and Grandma provided Snickers cookies for the treat.
This morning Sarah stayed with the kids while Matthew and I went with Grandma and Grandpa to the Temple. We did the baptism, confirmation, and initiatory for Kip's father, as well as the baptisms and confirmations for three other ancestors in his line. Not long after we got home, Matthew, Sarah, and I took the kids swimming at the rec center. Grandma took the kids and I to the library this evening while Matthew went shooting with Wes and Sarah went on a date.
