Conferences and an Anniversary Date

Yesterday afternoon we went to parent teacher conferences for the boys. Hyrum is doing well and is at grade level in math. He is still very slow and requires a lot of one on one encouragement when it comes to writing assignments, but he is showing improvement. His teacher says he talks a lot, has friends, and appears reasonably social.

Abraham is doing well and is at grade level in reading. He is excelling in math. His teacher says he sometimes has a hard time listening to instructions, but otherwise is a lot of fun to have in class.

We went to Mercy's conference this morning. She is right on track developmentally and has shown marked improvement in her speech.

Becky agreed to watch our children this evening so we could go on an anniversary date. We picked the boys up from school and took the kids straight to the Jensen's, then raced to the movie theater to catch the 4:15 showing of Thor: Ragnarok. Jeb was very thoughtful and gave us a box of fancy chocolates to help us celebrate our decade of marriage. We really liked the movie, and afterwards we got some dinner at Dion's. We called it a fairly early night since we still needed to finish getting ready to leave for Utah in the morning, but it was nice to take the time to spend an evening together. Ten years seems like a lifetime and just the blink of an eye all at the same time. I think we are both better people because of our marriage and I am so grateful for the life we've built together.
