Matthew and the kids all had the day off for Labor Day. In the morning Hannah's sister Sarah came over with her girls Eleanor and Vida. They are in town visiting and the air conditioner in their van broke. Hannah asked if Matthew could take a look at it, and luckily for everyone it was a pretty easy and inexpensive fix. Plus it was fun to hang out with Sarah and her girls for a while. It happened to be Sarah's birthday and she was having a party at a park across town that afternoon that she invited us to. We joined her and the extended Anderson clan for a pot luck lunch and cake. Matthew was quickly coming down with the stomach bug that the kids had, so we only stayed about an hour. Later that evening, while Matthew was curled up in bed, I took the kids over to the Jensen's and we had dinner with them and the Jolley's.
Much of the rest of the week was spent making decorations and seeing to the final details of the upcoming ward party. On Tuesday evening, I was able to sneak off to the dog park with Abraham and Mercy for a while.
Mercy had school on Wednesday morning and while she was there Hannah and I went on a bike ride along the Bosque. Scott came over to play piano after school, and in the evening I took Hyrum to cub scouts. We had committee meeting afterwards and when it was over we couldn't find Hyrum anywhere. I was starting to panic a bit, when he was finally discovered in a closed classroom chatting it up with a girl. Oh boy!
Thursday was a normal day full of chores, kids, and party prep.
Today after dinner we went over to the church to decorate the back of the stage. The Spanish ward has an activity planned for tomorrow morning, so we can't set everything up yet. It was good to at least get a head start on it though. Once the kids were in bed, Matthew and I stayed up way too late watching Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2. We liked it well enough, but are glad we watched it without the kids first as it has more language and violence than is appropriate for them.
