September

Wow! This month was long and busy and the beginning of it feels like ages ago. Practicing piano, getting kids off to and home from school, and doing homework are the three pillars of my day. The free hours in between seem to be entirely taken up with things like grocery shopping and laundry. I've gotten in a few bike rides, some piano practicing, and I've started a new rag quilt thanks to a good flannel sale at the beginning of the month. I spent a lot of time during the first week of September getting ready for the Chili Cook-off and Talent show. Matthew left the morning after the activity for Indiana and was there for six days. The second half of September was a steady push to cross things off my giant to-do list in preparation for an even busier October.

Matthew has been practicing guitar every day and started working on the front room again. He's got the whole thing about half way mudded. He also hosted his regular book club, Elder's Quorum game night, and D&D.

I went to a baby shower, volunteered for the Women of Light Convention, attended a Relief Society activity, went out to lunch with Mindy, watched the General Women's session of General Conference, went to my own book club, and tended Micah. Matthew and I finally managed a date while Mercy was at school. We went to the Temple, stopped by Joann's, and got some bread at Panera.

The boys had back to school night and Cub Scouts started back up for Hyrum. We made it to the park a couple times with various friends, including The Park Above with several other families. Mercy and I walked to the Jolley's once or twice a week and Scott practiced piano at our house on average three times a week. Abraham had a lucrative month loosing three out of four loose front teeth.

The beginning of the month was still pretty warm, but towards the end we got several afternoons of heavy rain which flooded our unfinished side yard and carried in some cooler weather. The winds of change are in the air and everyone is anticipating the arrival of a new season.
