Utah Day 4

The kids did a decent job sleeping in this morning, and we got going at a leasiurly pace befitting our late bedtime. Sarah had school, so while she was gone, Grandma and Grandpa took us to a nearby park to play and eat free lunch. Grandpa gave Hyrum his first baseball lesson and he actually hit the ball almost as often as he missed. Mercy played family with Grandma on the playground and Abraham and I played Frisbee.

At 11:00 they started park lunch, which is definitely run on a different system than our Albuquerque parks. It was set up more like a buffet where each child took a paper plate, a hamburger, a bun, some raw broccoli, an apple, and a milk, and significantly more children were served. I think perhaps they have fewer locations, so there are more kids to feed at each one. The boys drank their milk and nibbled at their apples then decided they were done. Mercy ate most of her food, except the broccoli.

We played a bit longer then went home for quiet time. Naps didn't happen as easily as we had hoped, but after quite a bit of coaxing, Mercy snoozed for about an hour and Abraham ended up sleeping until 4:00 pm when I finally woke him up. We snacked on ice cream cookie sandwiches and the boys convinced me to let them watch the second Harry Potter movie with the caviot that they would not be allowed to view the spider scene. For dinner we had meat and cheese sandwiches, which again the kids picked at like birds. We played at a little park down the street for about an hour, then came home for an early bed time, which thankfully no one complained about. The four of us adults played a few round of Catchphrase, then called it a night.
