Week in Review

We started out a busy week with a typical Monday: bike ride on the trainer, laundry, blogging, park lunch, and Family Night.

Mercy and I met up with the Buras' and the Moore's at the zoo on Tuesday morning. We only stayed about two hours, but it was a fun little outing and it's always nice to get together with friends. Once the boys got home in the afternoon, we spent some time in the pool. After the kids were in bed, Matthew stuffed a 25 lb bag of flour in his backpacking pack and practiced hiking around in the petroglyphs while I did a trainer ride.

Wednesday morning Mercy and I set out to deliver cookies to some sisters I visit teach. I wasn't expecting to stay long anywhere, but one invited us in so Mercy got a play date and I was able to get a proper visit done. We then made it to the park for story time and lunch. I got dinner all ready for Matthew and the kids so as soon as he got home I could leave for the Temple.

Mercy and I went grocery shopping on Thursday morning, then park lunch, and a quick swing by another sister I visit teach to deliver her cookies. In the afternoon the kids had their semi-annual visit to the dentist. It was Mercy's first cleaning and she did really well. The technician was very impressed with how still she remained and the overall lack of crying or fuss. The boys both got x-rays and everything is looking good. All three were cavity free! At 8:00 pm I met up with three other women in the ward for frozen custard and Italian Ice at Rita's Cafe.

This morning I got up with the sun in order to go on a longer bike ride outside. I rode up Unser, did the Volcanoes, then looped around via Paseo del Norte and back down Unser for a total of 23.5 miles. I didn't really push myself, so my time wasn't remotely impressive, but the ride certainly reminded me how much I love cycling.

Matthew spent the morning preparing for his backpacking trip with Hyrum, then he took Mercy and I on a date to REI for some last minute supplies. About an hour after the boys got home from school, my eldest child and his dad were on the road to San Gregorio Lake for some hiking, fishing, and camping. The littles and I watched Minon's and went to bed early, so it was a pretty great evening for us as well.
