Monday morning we did our regular beginning of the week chores and the boys got to play some video games. After lunch we walked down to the Stormcloud Park and played for a couple hours. After dinner and FHE, I rode on the trainer.
We also discovered that Abraham was growing his own shark tooth behind his loose front baby teeth.
Tuesday morning we met up with Hannah and Lyssa, and their girls at Parkwest. It was windy and a bit chilly, but the kids had a fun time together. A crazy wind storm built up in the afternoon and the air was so full of blowing dirt that we could barely see the houses two blocks away. The city and Sandia mountains were completely obscured.
Mercy was excited when I started preparing dinner, but couldn't quite make it to the meal without a bit of a snooze.
Because of Mercy's late nap, she wasn't remotely interested in going to bed and ended up playing a little late night Minecraft with her daddy.
Wednesday it was still pretty windy and there was a lot of dust in the air, so we opted for an inside screen time day. The boys loved playing Minecraft and video games for hours on end. The day wasn't entirely lazy though. I did get a good bike ride in, with an encouraging audience who cheered me on and danced energetically to my riding music.
Since we'd had so much screen time the day before, I deemed Thursday a no screen day and the kids spent hours playing an elaborate game of make believe in Mercy's room. I rode my bike and did some chores. Matthew came home a bit early and I was able to attend a session at the Temple.
Today I got up early to run to the grocery store, then spent the morning preparing our April Fool's day meal. At 2:30 the Buras' came over for games and dinner. We had shepherd's pie, broccoli, bread, and a berry salad, then had "dirt" for dessert. None of it turned out very pretty, so I didn't take pictures. The kids had a good time though and it was fun to have company. After the Buras' left and we got the kids in bed, Hannah came over to utilize our front loading washing machine to wash some large blankets. I rode along with her to pick up a milkshake and she and I sat in her car talking for a good while.
Though it wasn't a very exciting Spring Break, it was certainly a break, and I think it at the very least did this tired mama good to be at home with no particular schedule to stick to.
