Annual Tumbleweed Burning

Our house happens to be a natural collecting site for the giant tumbleweeds that get blown about by the early spring winds. I don't know why they don't pile up around anyone else's front door or along our other neighbor's back walls, but we had probably thirty of these giant, dried up weed balls littering our front and back yards. After rounding them all up, Matthew set to work burning them one by one in our fire pit.

The kids were intrigued by the process at first, but the tumbleweeds burn extremely hot and then throw up ashes that fall like snow which they didn't especially enjoy, so they found other ways of entertaining themselves on this particularly lovely New Mexico morning.
