Aunt Sarah had a couple days off of school and Grandpa Kip was able to arrange his work schedule so as to make a trip down to visit us for the long weekend. They arrived around 1:00 am and were able to get some decent rest before the boys woke up. We didn't tell them about our guests, so Hyrum was pretty surprised when he came downstairs to find Grandma and Grandpa waiting for him on the trampoline. Abraham wasn't exactly sure what to make of the situation when he came down and saw his grandparents sitting at the table, and Mercy took a few minutes to warm up to everyone, but by the time breakfast was over, they were all thrilled to have family in town.
After getting Hyrum off to school, we spent a fun morning at Explora.
In the afternoon, Matthew and his dad went to turn in the old transmission, then took Abraham with them to Harbor Freight to buy a cement mixer. Grandma Naomi and Sarah went to Hyrum's school to join him for his class Valentine's Day party. He was pretty excited to have them there. I stayed home with a snoozing Mercy and thoroughly enjoyed an hour of peace and quiet all to myself.
We ate lasagna and spinach salad for dinner, watched an episode of Ninja Turtles, then put the kids to bed since we have a big day planned tomorrow. Matthew and Grandpa spent the evening watching a Red Box movie, Sarah and Grandma worked on a scholarship application, and I made a two hour trip to Walmart to pick up a new stroller and check out the racks of kids clothes they had on clearance.
