Thirty-Two

When I was 16, I don't think I ever considered that someday I would actually wake up and be 32, with a husband, three kids, and a mortgage. Well, here I am. I had a lovely, laid back birthday surrounded by my sweet family and I really couldn't be happier.

Even though it looks like he is either upset or in pain, Abraham is indeed smiling in this picture

I got a 12 inch cast iron skillet, and Matthew totally surprised me with a smart phone. Welcome to the 21st century Julianne! He also ordered me a beautiful flower arrangement and chocolates. The flower shop made a mistake and sent them to me a month ago, so we weren't sure if they'd come again, but they did and I ended up getting two bouquets and boxes of candy.

Matthew spent most of the day trying to get google voice to work on my new phone and I was able to take a nice little nap. There was a mix up at the pediatrician's office and they ended up having to schedule Mercy's 4 month check up this afternoon, so I took her to the appointment while Matthew prepared my special birthday dinner. He made roasted eggplant, tomato, and lemon pizza on a neo-Neapolitan crust. It was amazing. He also made a strudel dessert pizza and we had Jones' apple soda (which we both found too sweet to actually drink with the meal). I then spent the evening recovering from an unusually full belly, while the boys watched some Avengers and Matthew played with the phone. It really was a lovely day, made entirely possible by my awesome husband and with little thanks to the children who could make whining an Olympic sport.

You are so beautiful. True story.

I'm so glad you had a good birthday! Those are some excellent gifts. And I can't believe you just now got a smart phone! Silly girl. :-)

Also, the picture of Mercy sleeping in your last post is so darling. I want to pick her up and squeeze her!

I got a smart phone like two months ago. They are so nice! I can cash checks up to a certain amount by taking a picture of it on my phone...which is SO nice because our bank is out of town. The big thing is that I can more easily post pics of my kids on Facebook for my family. Love the skillet and chocolate bouquet. I really want a carpet cleaner for my birthday this year. Happy birthday!!
