Success with a Spoon

Hyrum has been yearning to eat food the way Mommy does, with a utensil out of a dish without help. So yesterday I set up his chair in the kitchen (no carpet) and gave him a spoon, a bowl of refried beans, and let him at it. He did great! Beans were definitely the way to go: they were sticky enough to stay on the spoon until he got it to his mouth, plus he couldn't just tip over the cup and dump the whole meal out.

"Look at me, Dad, I ate the whole bowl! Yum!"
