Time to blog

I feel fantastic! Well, maybe not fantastic per se, but compared to a month ago, I feel really great. The mystery pain has not plagued me since the baby was born and while I may not be getting any more rest than I did before, when I lay down I'm actually able to sleep which helps. I love not going into work for 9 hours every day. Being home is still plenty of work, but I love that I'm here taking care of my little family. My house isn't quite as clean and organized as I'd like, but I love that for once I feel like that goal is obtainable. I have time on my side now that I'm not dedicating a large portion of my waking hours to the office. I have time to clean, time to cook, and time to blog!

On the baby front, Hyrum's umbilical cord fell off this morning! Now I can bathe him, which is exciting. He slept for 5 hours straight last night which is fantastic. He woke up at around 2:30 am and hasn't really slept much since then though, so I'm definitely ready for a nap. He's going through something of a "stage" right now I think. He's been abnormally fussy and a majority of the time he's awake is spent "crying". I did finally give him a binkie, which seems to be an okay move. He still nurses fine, and doesn't appear to be pacifier dependent. Two things I forgot to mention in the previous post are his amazing full body sneezes and the fact that he gets the hic-ups about 5 times a day.

In other news, Matthew starts his last semester today. He really vacationed it up over the break, so he's not overly thrilled to be going back to class. It's been nice having him around and will be interesting to see how I do with him gone all day. We've been getting all his grad school applications in and at last have the final list: Princeton, Berkeley, CalTech, Boston, Arizona, Purdue, and Utah. I look forward to finding out where we'll go.

Arizona! Arizona! Arizona!
And hey, I was really excited to see you'd posted. I saw your update on my blog roll and saved it for last. :-)

Hey Julianne:
I just got a kitty-proof wastepaper basket for my bathroom. I do not know how your mom and dad have so many animals in their house. Cleaning up after one kitty is plenty! Hope you are starting to heal from your C-section.
