One month anniversary!

Wee baby Kress is one month old today. I spent 40 long weeks making a body for him and wondering what he'd be like, and now he's here and the last 4 weeks seem like a lifetime and just a brief moment all at once. Hyrum continues to grow and be healthy. His newborn diapers are beginning to be a bit sung and aren't containing his productions quite as well as they used to. He fits into some of his clothing finally and his features are more defined. His face looks more like me, and I actually see a lot of my father in him, but his body is definitely built like Matthew's which is probably the better combination of the two of us. He seems to sleep better when he's asleep and is much more alert when he's awake. He's learning to focus on objects, though the concept that his hands are attached to and controlled by him is still quite beyond him. We're starting to see something of a personality in him and it's been a lot of fun. So, happy one month anniversary to my hijo...I'm sure glad he joined our family.

In other news, all the tape holding my incision together has come off, and it's probably a good thing I'm not planning on ever becoming a bikini model. The scar is a lot better than it could be though, so I'm not complaining. It's been cold and snowy here in SLC. I've really been wanting to take some nice walks with hijo, but Hyrum does not seem to be a fan of the cold. I bundled him all up yesterday and I'm sure his body was warm enough, but he kept gasping at the chilly air so our outing lasted about five minutes. I guess we'll stick to living room exercise until the weather warms up a bit. Matthew and I made a goal to not watch tv all week. It's amazing how much we've (I've) watched this past month and I'm sure it's had a negative affect on us (me). I'll let you know how my week goes without the Disney channel or Food Network.

Like you, think that Hyrum looks a lot like your dad. I noticed the resemblance in the first pictures you posted. As for TV, it is highly overrated. Blessings, sh
