We did our best to celebrate Matthew's birthday on Sunday. He opened some presents in the morning, then he went to do a bishopric training. We met up with him at church, but not long after he had a meeting down at the stake center. Once he was done with all his church responsibilities, we celebrated with a delicious dinner of brats, kettle chips, and Boston creme pie. In the evening we did a bit more caroling.
Mercy woke up vomiting on Monday, which was super inconvenient because I was scheduled to get my braces off at 9:20am and Matthew was already off to work and had meetings he couldn't miss. If I wanted to reschedule the appointment, I'd have to wait until February, which did not sound awesome. I called just about everyone I could think of and finally Kaitlyn Brown was able to come sit with Mercy and I was only 5 minutes late to the orthodontist. I got my braces off and everything worked out, but boy was it a stressful morning!
I started not feeling well on Wednesday and canceled a lunch I had planned with Mindy. I managed to take Hyrum to his orthodontist appointment and go to Abraham's band concert, but was sick enough the next two days that I opened up the seminary assessment so the kids could take it online instead of in person and canceled our end of year breakfast.
By Friday I was feeling better and the whole family was able to go to the stake youth ice skating activity.
