Highlights Week 2

Abraham received the Priesthood and was ordained by his dad to the office of deacon. Hyrum was ordained a teacher. We were happy to have Beto there to stand in the circle, as well as Bishop Brown and Brother Walker.

We spent several days moving rooms around. My sewing room moved downstairs and Matthew fully took over the upstairs room, which we are now calling the studio. Over the course of the week, he painted it black and put up some background decorations. He currently has a bunch of baby blankets hanging from the ceiling to dampen echoes until we can make some proper sound panels.

Grandma Naomi arrived on Tuesday afternoon and we've loved having her here. While the kids were at school on Wednesday, we spent the morning baking macarons, and the afternoon making chocolate truffles. Cassie and Lucas came over to keep us company, then stayed for dinner.

There was a cyber attack on Albuquerque Public schools, so classes were canceled on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday Abraham made us all pancakes for breakfast and Grandma brought a craft for everyone to do. Mindy commissioned Mercy to make her four heat bags, so while Abraham and I were out running some errands, Grandma supervised and Mercy got them all done. We delivered them just two hours later and Mercy made $25! I'm sad I didn't get a picture. On Thursday evening the boys went to youth night where they played crab soccer with the young women. Since the kids didn't have school the next day, we stayed up late watching Eternals while I made pastry crust.

Grandma, Mercy, and I walked down to Cassie's house on Friday morning. After a tour and a bit of visiting, we left Mercy there and Grandma and I did some shopping and final cleaning for the baby shower.

Friday night we were blessed with the opportunity to take Abraham to the Temple for the first time. We were especially happy to have Grandma and Beto there for the special occasion. Afterwards, we stopped by Smith's and Abraham got to pick out a treat.
